Our friends over at Alderac Entertainment Group announced the launch of a brand new demo program on July 1, 2014. They’ll be partnering with retail game stores throughout the US, running in-store events to show off and teach their latest games. This means they’ll send out an experienced AEG demo team member(s) to your location and they will guide new players in learning how to play.
Be in the Vanguard
AEG will need the help of dedicated volunteers to make this program a success. These volunteers, called Vanguards, will form the backbone of their demo efforts. While AEG will have a great appreciation for their time and dedication, the Vanguards deserve more than just that. By running agreed sanctioned demo events, the Vanguards will accumulate reward points. These points can then be spent on AEG products and exclusive promotional items. A win for the stores, as this doesn’t affect their bottom line and a win for the Vanguard as they can earn rewards helping stores develop stronger business sales and experiences.
Calling all volunteers
If you are, or know, a gamer that loves to play and teach games, then visit AEG’s volunteer page to get signed up today. This will involve travel to all demo-requesting local retail stores and helping drive participation, knowledge and ultimately sales of AEG games.
For the next month, AEG will be accepting volunteer applications as they build up their force of Vanguards. Those that sign up in this first month will earn a special “Tip of the Spear” reward from AEG for being an early adopter.
David Trudeau, Demo Program and Customer Service Lead for AEG, writes: “Help us test our new Demo Program website and online systems. Together, we can make this program the best in the game industry.
Since the demo program was announced through the Ivory Edition Launch Kit promotion, the first initiative will be the Legend of the Five Rings CCG. While we will be accepting applications to become an Vanguard from everyone, demo events will focus on L5R for a limited time.”
A Great Retail Opportunity!
This is a great opportunity for stores and particularly those interested in getting involved with developing L5R since AEG just released possibly their strongest set yet, the Ivory Edition. Obviously, later on this will encompass the rest of AEG products, therefore make sure to check back and arrange a new Demo event regularly. Demo’s have a seriously positive impact on game sales and you should use these tools to drive the fun in your store and commensurate sales.
