Wizards of the Coast announces a Summer 2014 release for D&D Next. The play test attracted over 175,000 testers in the development of this edition and will be published with the results from the copious play-testing included.
Summer brings us GenCon and the traditional time for D&D to be launched though no official word has confirmed that. Exciting as this is the most publically tested and developed edition in it’s history and sure to be a winner with those that took part.
“Just like a perfectly balanced party, Wizards has worked cohesively with fans, designers and partners to create the next generation of D&D,” said Nathan Stewart, Brand Director for Dungeons & Dragons. “We whole-heartedly thank all of the play test participants, whose feedback has proven instrumental in shaping the future of Dungeons & Dragons.”
The D&D Organized Play Program, The Sundering, will continue to run up to the launch and act as a precursor to the new edition. We recommend all interested D&D stores be involved with this Organized Play Program in preparation of the launch.
