First Look: World of Warcraft's Darkmoon Faire Set
Here's the inside scoop on the Darkmoon Faire Collector's Set due out this September.
General Overview: This is a value priced, loot driven product. For $9.99, customers get 5 exclusive WOW TCG cards, 2 WOW TCG booster packs, one 500 point UDE points card (5x the value of a normal points card!). There are three ways for customers to get in-game cosmetic upgrades from this product:
- There is an approximate 1:10 chance of having the UDE points card replaced with a loot card. These loot cards could be any of the previously released loot cards from the first SIX WOW TCG booster sets, including the Spectral Tiger and the Rocket Mount! This will not include the “super common” loot cards (consumable) from Servants of the Betrayer and The Hunt for Illidan.
- Customers could pull loot cards from the included booster packs.
- Customers can get a guaranteed in-game cosmetic item by purchasing four of these! The UDE points card has 500 points on it. There will be two boards. The first is the Formula De board which is the Monaco track. This will come with pre-painted miniature racing cars. The second track is for the Muscle cars. All muscle cars will be different and pre-painted as well. The new FD board will be compatible with the old tracks and the new and old will all be compatible as well . None of the old tracks will be re-printed, but some new ones will be made. There will be gears for each player to have their races.
2008 MTG: Duel Decks Preview
On June 10th Wizards of the Coast gave a preview of this year's MTG: Duel Decks. Here's the scoop on it:

The decks showcase some of the best control and burn cards from throughout Magic's 15-year history. Jace vs. Chandra has eight rare cards, and six cards with newly commissioned artwork, including foil alternate-art versions of Jace Beleren and Chandra Nalaar. All cards are black-bordered and tournament-legal.

With D&D 4th Edition only hours away from hitting the shelves, some of the existing 3.5 books are becoming a hot commodity and are starting to sellout at the manufacturer level. Complete Scoundrel is the latest book to sell out. We still have quantity on hand but we expect some of these books to sell fast. The core book for d20 Modern sold out earlier in the week. Let's Keep it Under Wraps!
Here's the first look at the Loot content for the World of Warcraft card game expansion, The Hunt for Illidian, which is scheduled to release in July.
Path of Illidan - This is a "common" loot item. Most of the time, it will appear approximately twice per booster box. This card will grant you an item with some number of charges for a ground-changing effect. This effect will create a green scorched and cracked earth effect when your character walks or runs. Your enemies will fear you!
Disco in a Box - This is the middle tier loot item. Clicking on this item makes music for everyone in your party/raid to listen to!
Visually, this could be represented by a "jack in the box" looking item with a disco ball instead of a head. It's a party every time you use it! This will definitely attract the most attention of any middle-tiered loot item to date!
Ethereal Suit - This is the top tier loot item. This item will transform your character's appearance into that of a member of The Consortium! Ethereals are astral travelers; they are pure-energy beings that most often appear in their specially enchanted wrappings that keep their energy forms bound within the humanoid shape. When they move, they typically leave light streaks in their wake. These are very cool looking creatures and will be extremely popular!

Here's a few hi-lites on the upcoming 3rd booster release for World of Warcraft CCG: Fires of Outland, releasing in late August.
This set contains 18 new hero cards, bringing additional combinations and deck options to customers.
All new UDE Points program. Instead of the “Ninjas vs Pirates” game that is currently on the UDE Points cards, there will be a totally new WOW-based card. This revamp will add tons of value to these already valuable bonus cards. Instead of just redeeming them online, customers will be able to ALSO redeem certain combinations of these cards at OP events for exclusive promo cards. This will be done in a way that mimics the online game’s professions (blacksmithing, leatherworking, tailoring, etc.). Essentially, we’ll tell our customers “recipes” for promo cards, and they’ll hunt down those specific UDE points cards to get them. This provides another level of collectability to our product and makes it mimic the online game closer. This is a 100% upgrade. The cards still function the same way they used to, but we added another layer with more chances for prizes.
