We recently announced the first ever Machi Koro Championships, where the preliminary qualifiers are to be held in local stores. The winner of each qualifier will get some cool prizes and a chance to play in the first ever Machi Koro Championship finals at GenCon 2015.
In my first article, I outlined the championships and invited stores to participate. In this update I want to share the awesome winners ‘Mayor’ play mat (designed by our very own staff member – Mike Paschal) and talk about the rest of the contents in the store kits.
Each kit will cost $15 and contains the limited edition, exclusive Mayor play mat, limited edition foil versions of the city hall establishment and tournament instructions/rules. Special note: There will only be 150 of the Mayor play mats in existence. That’s pretty limited and totally exclusive to us. We’ve no plans to print more, therefore you can be assured these will be highly sought after.
How many stores can take part?
We have a strict maximum of 100 stores in this inaugural year. Store applications will be processed on a strictly first come first entered basis. Therefore I highly recommend contacting us immediately as space is going fast.
How much does the kit cost?
$15 US. Kits are ONLY available in English.
What are the kit contents?
- One limited edition, exclusive Mayor’s play mat for the winner.
- Foil City Hall establishment cards as participation rewards.
- Machi Koro Championship instructions and special rules.
When can I run the Championship Qualifier?
The day a store elects to run their Championship Qualifier is entirely up to them. The season is May 1st to June 30th, 2015. All events must be reported to us by July 10, 2015.
Can we share our events with you?
My store is in Latin America. Can I take part?
Yes! You can sign-up your store in the same way as US stores. We will ship you a kit via Coqui Hobby Distribution. Note: The kit is ONLY available in English. Please allow more time for shipping and plan your qualifier later in the Championship season to avoid shipping issues.
When will I get my kit?
Kits will arrive at the beginning of May for use in the qualifier season. It maybe later for Latin American locations. Please plan accordingly.
If I have questions, who do I contact?
