The world was simple. Man and woman measured against each other on their prowess of muscle and mind. But from the southern reaches of Rathe, dark arts and aether manipulation have again found practitioners of the forbidden warfare. As the fight takes new shape, heroes must adapt or die. Sword and shield will not be enough to survive the Arcane Rising!
Flesh and Blood is a hero-vs-hero combat game, where the cards you play are the moves your hero makes in the delicate dance of life and death with your opponent. Designed for constructed, booster draft, sealed deck, and multiplayer, Flesh and Blood’s innovative pitch resource system guarantees that every game is a great game!
Hosting An Arcane Rising Pre-release Event
The booster display for Arcane Rising (FAB2001A) will release on March 27, 2020. However, a select group of stores will be sanctioned to host an Arcane Rising pre-release event. These types of events help build brand awareness, grow your gaming community, and drive sales. If you’re ready to get started, proceed to Step 1.
Arcane Rising (ARC) is the second Flesh and Blood booster set, introducing the highly anticipated caster classes to the game, and with them, arcane damage! Featuring classic fantasy classes, Flesh and Blood puts you in the shoes of your hero, as you start the game by equipping your hero with weapons and armor to face the challenge at hand.
Step 1 – Create a GEM Account
Visit the Game Event Management website and create a GEM account at gem.fabtcg.com, entering your store details into the GEM account profile and selecting PHD as your primary distributor.
Step 2 – Schedule Your ARC Pre-release Event
The Arcane Rising pre-release can either be run on Saturday the 21st or Sunday the 22nd of March 2020. You must schedule your ARC pre-release event in GEM by February 27. Pre-release stores will be featured on the fabtcg.com event locator.
Note: ARC pre-release events are limited to the first 250 brick-and-mortar stores globally who schedule an event.
Step 3 – Pre-order One or More Cases of ARC
You will need to pre-order a minimum of one case of Arcane Rising boosters (FAB2001A) from PHD by March 10 to qualify for the ARC pre-release. One case contains 96 boosters (enough to support 16 pre-release players). Retailers who run an ARC pre-release are approved to sell Arcane Rising product during the pre-release weekend. To help incentivize the sale of booster boxes, participating stores will receive exciting buy-a-box promos with their pre-release kit.
When you place your order with your PHD Account Manager, be sure to order Welcome to Rathe Hero Decks (FAB19002), and the first booster release Welcome to Rathe (FAB19001) to help get your customers familiar with the product. You can also request Welcome Decks (FAB18001) to help your staff and newcomers become better acclimated to the game and how it plays.
Step 4 – Prepare For Your ARC Pre-release Event
Using the marketing assets provided, and promotional videos, promote your pre-release event in-store and on social media. Be sure to take the time familiarize yourself with how to play, as well as tournament rules and restrictions. Don’t forget to schedule a knowledgeable associate, or champion, as a judge for the event.
We also recommend that you host “Learn to Play” events to increase exposure and drive interest in the game. It also helps your store begin the journey on the OP Pathway to Armory events and Road to Nationals events!
Step 5 – Host Your ARC Pre-release Event
The day of your event, be sure to send out a reminder to players that have signed up. Recommend that participants show up at least fifteen minutes beforehand to have them sign up as new players. If you have an in-store television, you may want to consider showing the How to Play video to help newer players prepare for the event. Make sure that you allow six minutes for players to watch the video.
[su_spacer]You will have enough prize-support for 16 players to participate in event. An Arcane Rising Pre-release Kit contains 2 Arcane Rising limited-edition play mats, 16 Young Hero foil pre-release promo cards (4 of each new ARC young hero), 8 Adult Hero foil buy-a-box promo cards (2 of each new ARC adult hero), and additional hero and weapon cards to support the operations of your event.
Have a great event!
Frequently Asked Questions
How many pre-release events can I run?
Just one. While the FAB community is developing, Legend Story Studios feels that it is important to consolidate players into a single pre-release event per store. We also hope this will allow stores in close proximity to schedule events that don’t clash.
My players want to play more Arcane Rising sealed deck and/or booster drafts after the pre-release. Can I run other events using ARC product?
Yes, you can. However, you cannot give out Arcane Rising promo cards or playmats at these events. Additional events can be run in GEM as normal on-demand events.
Are there booster prizes for the event?
Legend Story Studios does not supply prize boosters for pre-release events. Retailers can charge an entry that allows them to provide a suitable number of additional prizes for the event if they wish.
I don’t have access to GEM. How can I create a pre-release event?
You must use GEM to run Flesh and Blood organized-play events. Create an account at gem.fabtcg.com, or contact Legend Story Studios at email@example.com if you need help setting up your account.
My pre-release didn’t have 16 players so I have left over Young Hero foil promo cards. What should I do with them?
Left over Young Hero foil cards should be used as additional buy-a-box promo cards for Arcane Rising booster boxes. Do not use them for events that are not the pre-release.
I have more than 16 players wanting to play my event. Do I have to turn players away?
No. While the prize kits provide only 16 Young Hero foil pre-release promo cards, this does not restrict the number of players you can have. You may need to change how you distribute the Young Hero foil cards to support larger events.
Since I can sell Arcane Rising products in-store on pre-release weekend, can I also ship out my online pre-orders?
No. Arcane Rising pre-release weekend sales are strictly in-store purchases only. After pre-release weekend, ARC product may not be sold again until the release date of March 27.
I’ve never run a Flesh and Blood sealed event. What do I need to do?
It’s very easy and not dissimilar to pre-release events you may have run for other TCGs. For details, please see the How to run your Arcane Rising pre-release guide in the FAB LGS center.
As always, if you have questions related to any organized-play programs supported by PHD, please contact your PHD Account Manager, or Rod Edwards, our Director of Organized Play!
